General Information

The North Cobb Christian School Media Center supports the instructional program of the school by providing learning materials in all formats and creating a positive and inviting learning environment. The ever-growing library is a balanced collection of materials encompassing print, non-print, and computer technology. It includes state-of-the-art electronic materials and technologies to provide students and staff with the most current information.

The Reading Room, a special collection for our K4 through second graders, is located in the front hallway across from the staff mailroom. Daily, younger students have readings and are able to check out books.

Above all, the Media Center desires to instill a love of reading in students that will enhance their education and last a lifetime.

Circulation

Students may check out as many as two books for two weeks. At the end of the two weeks, they must renew in the Media Center.

GALILEO

GALILEO, Georgia Library Learning Online, is offered by the University System of Georgia and is only available to subscribers. This provides them with direct links to databases to meet their research needs at school and at home. Students are trained to use GALILEO through their computer classes or one of their other classes, which regularly need and use research sites.

Accelerated Reader

NCCS participates in the Accelerated Reader program for lower school students. This program provides an opportunity for students to challenge themselves with literacy skills tests on specified AR books. The Media Center has over 1,500 AR books available for check out.
