Arts
Students at North Cobb Christian School have many opportunities through the fine arts program for kindergarten through 12th grade. Students begin at K4-3rd grade in general music and visual arts and progress to 4th & 5th grades where they may choose between band, orchestra, and general music. In 2nd-5th grade, students also have the opportunity to participate in one of two extra curricular choral music ensembles. In middle school & upper school (6th - 12th grades), speech & debate, choral music and dramatic arts are added. Students can further develop their skills through enrollment in the Academy of the Arts during their upper school years. This auditioned course of study is targeted toward the student who desires a professional career path in the arts. However, all students benefit from the excellent preparatory instruction in the arts even if a career or ministry in the arts is not God's plan for them.
Upper school students have many opportunities to compete in Georgia Music Educators, Georgia High School and Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) competitions in the arts. In addition to these opportunities, students may enroll in private music lessons in piano, strings, band instruments, group keyboard, voice and guitar. Select students in drama, band and orchestra participate in regional and state arts festivals and competitions while other students choose to audition for elementary, middle school, and high school praise teams or praise bands that lead in worship during the weekly chapel services.
