Dance
There aren't many more images that are more powerful than that of King David dancing before his God. From the Exodus to the empty tomb, Scripture is full of people who were able to find no other way to worship their King than through dance. Grace and beauty, strength and balance all come together to create something that is worthy of His attention and requires our diligence.
The Dance Program at NCCS begins with our after school lesson program starting in K3. There are three classes - K3 & K4, K5 & 1st grade, and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. More information about these classes can be found on the Private Lessons Page. In Middle School, dance is offered as a fine arts elective during the day, with three classes a week for 5th and 6th graders and four times a week for 7th and 8th graders. Genres taught include jazz, ballet, hip-hop, musical theatre, and others. As with any other discipline, each progressive year builds on the talents and skills learned the previous year.
Currently we are establishing a solid dance program foundation in the Lower and Middle Schools, with plans to expand the dance program into the Upper School. Although formal classes are not offered at the Upper School level at this time, there are some opportunities for dance, including the spring musical.
