The Vocal Arts Program begins from the moment a child walks in the doors at NCCS. Starting in K3, students are introduced to General Music classes where they learn the skills necessary to start a life in music. As they matriculate into Middle and Upper Schools the vocal program follows them with choral offerings every year. In the vocal arts program, we consider music and song gateways to the soul. Singing is powerful and we want to help students recognize their abilities and harness that power! There are six independent performing choirs at NCCS - one in Lower School, three in Middle School, and two in Upper School. These choirs perform at various events through out the year such as Grandparent's Day, Fall Festival, Fall Concerts, Veteran's Day, State of the School Address, Christmas Concerts, Disney World, Dollywood, and our spring fundraising concert, and Arts on the Lawn.
The Academy of the Arts offers a track in the Vocal Arts. This a track for students who are keenly focusing on singing and want to make it a part of their lives after leaving high school and even college. For more on that, please click on the Academy of the Arts link.
