Athletics

Athletics at North Cobb Christian School
At North Cobb Christian School, we believe a robust athletics program is essential to an excellent private education. Whether on the field or in the stands, our students benefit from the rich community and school spirit that sports provide. With a total of 53 athletic teams, there is something for everyone on our campus

The Benefits of Athletics
Why do we focus heavily on providing a strong athletics program? We believe sports enrich our learning community in more ways than one.

Healthy Lifestyles
Being active is important for nurturing the mind, body, and spirit. Students who participate in sports tend to achieve better overall health, developing habits that will be beneficial for a lifetime.

Teamwork
Regardless of the sport, athletics foster a sense of unity that is unlike any other. As students work together toward a common goal, they experience the value of teamwork on and off the field.

Improved Academic Performance
Studies indicate that students involved with athletics achieve higher grades and test scores. We believe staying active and engaged boosts performance in the classroom and enriches the learning experience.

Christian Community
Athletics provide a platform to glorify God through hard work. NCCS coaches are mentors who encourage team members to witness to each other and opponents through Christlike character and sportsmanship.

Opportunities at North Cobb Christian School
We offer
20 varsity teams, 6 junior varsity teams, and 27 middle school teams. Students are able to begin exploring different sports as early as kindergarten through our Soaring Eagles program, which helps young players develop stamina, athletic skills, and sportsmanship. We believe this early start contributes to the high percentage (over 75%) of students in grades 5-12 who participate in at least one competitive sport a year. Many NCCS athletes have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, earning partial or full scholarships.

Our varsity and junior varsity teams compete in the GHSA (Georgia High School Association), affording our athletes competitive opportunities throughout the region and state. Our middle school teams compete in the Metro 10 League.

Over the years, we have claimed many championships in a variety of sports, and are proud to have coaches who have been named “Coach of the Year” at the regional and state level.
