Parents and Seniors should check this page often for updates about events and information pertaining specifically to the NCCS Class of 2012.
Please be in prayer for the year ahead and for our seniors as they use this critical time to prepare to enter the next stage of their lives. Herff-Jones Meeting about Graduation Supplies (required for all seniors)
Date: Tuesday, November 8, 2011 8:45am Upper School Cafeteria
Questions: Patti White, Upper School Administrative Assistant
Herff-Jones will be on campus to give a presentation about graduation invitations and caps and gowns. Our rep will be giving out a packet that will be used to order these items. The meeting will be in the Upper School cafeteria and parents are more than welcome to join us.
Spring Term (required for all seniors)
Date: Saturday, March 24-Friday, March 30, 2012 **some trips may start earlier or last longer**

There are several opportunities for our seniors to engage in a unique experience outside of the classroom. Each trip will have a mission component and an education component. We will also offer short courses that will have a robust curriculum for those that choose to stay at NCCS for Spring Term. All of the information about Spring Term is on the NCCS website under the link for Student Life.
Community Service (required for all seniors)
Date: Tuesday, May 1, 2012

All seniors are required to have 16 hours of community service during their senior year. Please see the NCCS website under the "Student Life" section for more information about community service requirements and suggestions. All community service hours are due by May 2, 2011.
Graduation Slideshow Pictures (required for all seniors)
Date: by Tuesday, May 1, 2012 (you can email them starting now)

We will honor the graduates with a slide show of their progress through life. We need two photographs of each graduating senior. ALL photos must be emailed or sent in on CD or flash drive. If you need to have your photos scanned, please check with Wal-Mart, Walgreens, or a photo lab of your choice. If you are emailing them, please send them to mstrange@ncchristian.org.
Ideas for pictures:
-A shot of them as an infant (1 year or younger)
-A shot of your choosing - a hobby or sport they enjoy, a funny picture, something really cute or embarrassing (any age)
We will also add senior formal pictures that we have from our yearbook. The slide show will be put to music and will be presented at the beginning of graduation. Please email or bring all pictures to Megan Strange no later than May 1. As a matter of good taste, please no nudity (no matter how cute they were as a baby). You do not have to wait until May 1, you are welcome to start emailing those pictures now.
Baccalaureate (required for all seniors)
Date: Monday, May 21 2012 8am at NCCS

As a school we will celebrate what God has done in the lives of our seniors in a formal baccalaureate ceremony during chapel from 8-9am on Monday, May 21. Seniors will dress in caps and gowns during the program. Boys need to wear dress slacks, a dress shirt and tie, as well as dress shoes. Boys should also be clean-shaven for the ceremony. Girls should wear a dress or skirt and dress shoes. We would love for parents to attend. This is an opportunity to worship together one last time and thank God for the way He has blessed our senior class. Parents are encouraged to join us for this special time of worship.
Upper School Awards Assembly (required for all seniors)
Date: Monday, May 21, 2012 9am at NCCS

Come join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of all of our Upper School students during the 2011-2012 school year at NCCS. We will be recognizing students for a variety of honors related to academics, arts, athletics, and student life. Parents are invited to join us for this special assembly.

Graduation Rehearsal (required for all seniors)
Date: Friday, May 25, 2012 9am at Roswell Street Baptist Church

In order to have a meaningful service, which runs smoothly, a rehearsal is essential. Graduation rehearsal will be on Friday, May 25 at 9am. Every senior must be present. This is not an optional event. Dress for the rehearsal is regular school dress code.
Graduation Day (required for all seniors)
Date: Friday, May 25, 2012 7pm at Roswell Street Baptist Church

Commencement is scheduled for Friday, May 25 at 7pm. Seniors need to arrive promptly by 5:30pm for the Senior Blessing. The doors will open at 5:30pm for all guests. Due to the size of Roswell Street Baptist Church, there will be no tickets for this event. All family and friends are encouraged to join us for this time of celebration.
