Shrek: The Musical - NEXT WEEK!
NCCS Fine Arts are proud to present SHREK: The Musical. Adapted from the Dreamwork's classic movie, the show follows Shrek as he leaves his swamp on a quest to rescue the beautiful princess Fiona. Bawdy but beautiful, this fractured fairy tale is a command performance that puts love, life, and loathing under the microscope. What it means to be unique. What it means to be created...and then rejected. What it means to be loved in spite of it all. Come out and see why it is indeed a big bright beautiful world!
A wee word of warning, though...the protagonist of the show is an ogre with a disposition to match who is surrounded by a slew of disgruntled fairy tale squatters; all of which are after a Freudian small person who is, in fact, chasing a neurotic princess. While it is a fairy tale, it would do us all well to remember that the movie was rated "PG" and not "G."
Performances - March 17 & 18 at 7:00pm and March 19 at 2:00pm & 7:00pm Tickets are available in the Eagles Nest School Store for $15 - but hurry, as tickets are going fast!
Join us for a Shrek-Fast breakfast on Wednesday, March 16 from 7:30am - 8:45am. The event will include a waffle breakfast, photos with some of the characters from the musical (Shrek, Fiona and Donkey), and a special sneak peek performance of the NCCS production of Shrek. Be sure to make your reservation HERE - Tickets are just $10 per person and payment will be collected at the door.
Our Lower School showed up in a big way this year as they raised money to go towards the Upper School Spring Term mission trips! This year’s SHINE money will be used to purchase water filters for homes in Haiti so that families can have clean water, to paint and re-roof houses in Haiti, to put on Vacation Bible Schools in different Haitian neighborhoods, and to help with various projects in Guatemala. Together, the Lower School classes raised over $2030.60 for these projects! Every class did their part, with Mrs. Crowe's K4 class leading the way with $532.45, followed by Mrs. Allen's 3rd grade class with $262.61! We could not be more proud of these students and the great job they have done "shining their light" for all to see, and we can't wait to give an update on our projects in our "afterSHINE Chapel" in April!
In addition to supporting our Upper School Spring Term financially, all of our Lower School students are also supporting the various teams through prayer. Lower School parents can see the Prayer Partner list below to join your students in praying for specific teams. Being able to partner in prayer means so much to both our lower and upper school students!
