Middle School Track & Field NAML Results
The 2016 Middle School Track & Field season was successful, both from a performance and participation standpoint. There were 45 students that made up this year's squad. During the season this team participated in six track meets, where numerous PR’s (personal records) were achieved in each meet. The season highlight was the NAML Championship meet, where our boys took 3rd place and our girls took 2nd place. Many great individual accomplishments helped contribute to our teams great showing in the meet, including performances from the following: Synclair Savage (1st 100m, 2nd 200m, 1st long jump) Kennedy Oglesby (1st 200m, 2nd 400m) Kelly Ann Sutterfield (5th 1600m, 2nd 800m) Mya Brown (2nd 300H), Aine Jones (4th 3200m) Schuyler Heflin (5th Discus, 1st Shot Put) Kennedy Fitch (2nd Long Jump) Erica Milbourn (4th Discus) Josiah Scott (2nd 100m, 1st 200m) Shanard Banks (3rd 100m, 2nd 200m) Connor Constantine (3rd 1600m, 2nd 3200m) Brock Gowens (1st Discus, 3rd Shot Put) Jon Grier (2nd Long Jump, 4th Triple Jump) Miles Parrish (5th Long Jump) In addition, our boys & girls 4x400m teams placed 2nd and our girls 4x100m team took 2nd. Our coaching staff felt blessed to see the encouragement and help the team members provided each other during practices throughout the season. They especially note the leadership shown by the 8th grade members of the team as they welcomed and helped the younger team members. Coach Lorenzo says, “It will be very exciting to see this squad grow and progress together throughout Middle School and High School.” Congratulations on a great season, MS Track & Field!

Rising 7th and 8th grade students will audition on Wednesday, May 19, starting at 3:10pm. You will need to learn and sing/play one of the posted songs outside Mrs. Wallace's room. The theme for this event, “Do IT Yourself,” is meant to convey a core opportunity – you can use IT to create opportunities for yourself, solve problems for yourself (and others), and drive economic and social opportunities for society. IT is empowering! • Do you like logic? • Are you comfortable in math and science? • Are you a problem-solver?
