Upper School Principal Megan Strange Receives Award
Please join us in congratulating Upper School Principal Megan Strange for being presented the "Service Above Self" award from the Rotary Club of North Cobb at the Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival in Acworth this past weekend. We are so proud of you for serving others well, Megan!
Academy Singers' Spring Showcase
Make plans to join us for the Academy Singers' Spring Showcase on Friday, May 13, or Saturday, May 14, at 7:00pm in the Fine Arts Building. This concert is a culmination of the year's work and is always a favorite event each year! Each Singer will be performing a solo of his or her choice, along with some of their ensemble favorites. Admission is free; however, each person in attendance must have a ticket to attend. (Tickets are available in the Eagles Nest School Store or as available at the door.) Special note - please plan to be seated for the concert by 6:55pm. After that time, seats will be released to those without tickets.
Academy Actors Showcase
The Academy Actors are proud to present their Spring Showcase production of Barbara Pease Weber's "DelVal Divas." Set in the Delaware Valley Federal Corrections Facility, this mostly light-hearted comedy follows five middle-aged women who are incarcerated for various white collar crimes. The prison more resembles a country club where the ladies order in dinner and weekly have their nails done and enjoy a massage. Trouble arrives when one of their "suite-mates" is replaced by someone who is convicted of - gasp - murder. Come out and watch how the Divas help their new inmate prove her innocence and unravel a campy and fun murder mystery.
Admission is free and shows are Thursday (5/19) and Friday (5/20) at 7:00pm in the Fine Arts Building.
It's funnier than you'd think.
New Host Home Opportunity
We are currently seeking host homes for the 2016-2017 school year for students from Sweden (boy - age 16) and Slovakia (girl - age 17). This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the blessing that so many NCCS families have experienced through our international program! If you would like more information about hosting one of these students, please contact Beth Wright in the Admissions Office.
Ensemble Performs in Lower School Chapel
This past Tuesday, an ensemble from the 5th and 6th grade orchestra had the opportunity to open the Lower School Chapel. They shared Psalm 150 - "Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals!; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!" Music is such a gift from God and these students beautifully played a collection of music from the Classical, Pop and Christian genres, closing with "Amazing Grace." Great job, Lindsay Nichols, Hannah Cloete, Finley Ross, Avery Bayes, Chloe Glosson, Kelly Ann Sutterfield, Kayla Schulze, Sarah Row, Aine Jones, Isabella Brainard, Chichi Enyinda and Riley Piepmeier!
