We hope to see you next week as we join with all of our students, faculty, staff, families, local pastors, and community guests on Tuesday, August 23, for our 18th Annual Circle of Prayer at 8:30am. This is one of our favorite events of the year as we gather for a time of prayer and worship and ask for God's blessings for the year ahead. We will host our special Pastors’ Breakfast at 7:30am prior to the Circle of Prayer and have invited our local pastors to join us; however, a personal invitation from your family to them will mean so much. Dress code for students: Circle of Prayer will be a chapel dress day for all lower, middle, and upper school students. Parking: The front portion of our parking lot will be unavailable for parking on Circle of Prayer morning. The upper carline will run as usual, but the parking area closest to the school will be closed until after Circle of Prayer. Due to number of people expected for this special event, we would like to ask that you arrive in one family car if possible.

Our PTF supports, spoils and serves the teachers in all three divisions at NCCS! Thank you to those who go above and beyond in leadership roles in this awesome parent organization!

Exciting K3 News!
We are excited to announce that due to the interest in our K3 program, an additional K3 class will open on Monday, August 22! These young students are engaging in creative, hands-on activities to learn foundational academic skills, learning about Jesus and learning how to respect authority while being a good friend to their classmates. Our K3 classes are taught by Mrs. Dianne Pile and Mrs. Amber Morning. We have limited spaces available for this new class, so invite some parents of 3 year olds to come check out NCCS preschool...we have room to grow!
4th grade Begins New Safety Patrol
NCCS 4th graders have a new duty at NCCS - Safety Patrol. This new program, which is an honor and privilege for our 4th grade students to be a part of, is a job of commitment and service to the school throughout the year. Morning duties include opening/closing doors, being courteous to adults and children, assisting younger students to their classrooms, and carrying preschool students' bags and/or mats. We can’t wait to see our fourth graders shine for Jesus in this important servant task!

Celebrating Our Students
Lower School Student Competes in National Wakeboarding Competition
Isaac Phillips, otherwise known as Ike, has been spotted carrying his wakeboard through the halls of NCCS. Ike, who is six years old and in Mrs. Thaxton’s first-grade class, is currently the youngest competitive cable wakeboarder in the county. Ike started riding at the age of four, started competing at five, and competed in eight cable wakeboarding competitions throughout the Summer at Terminus Wake Park. Ike led the park in the Traditional Beginners division, which concentrates more on consistency in riding and placed second in the Grom division, which is about tricks at any level for kids who are nine and under.
Ike was invited to compete in both divisions in the National Points Chase competition that just took place in early August in Orlando. He competed in the Beginners division at National competition, where he rode against several adults, and immediately advanced to the semi-finals, but did not make the finals. We are so proud of you, Ike!
Upper School Student Attends Republican Convention
Congratulations to NCCS sophomore Thomas Tucker, who had a very special opportunity to attend the Republican Convention in Cleveland this summer. Thomas regularly attends the Cobb GOP breakfasts and was offered a ticket a few days before the convention started. In an article in the Marietta Daily Journal, Cobb GOP Chair Rose Wing said, “When non-voting age students like Thomas Tucker get involved in the process early, they are better-educated voters when they reach the age of 18,” Wing said. “This will have a lasting impression on him to remain involved in the political process, whether he is an active candidate for office or not.” To read the article, click here. We are so proud of Thomas for his participation in this great experience!
