Performances are in the Fine Arts Building on February 9th and 10th at 7:00pm and February 11th at 8:00pm (after the Valentine’s Sock Hop) - coffee and delicious desserts will be served. Tickets are on sale in the Eagles Nest School store ($10 for adults and $8 for students) beginning Monday, January 30 - but don't wait too long to get them, as we typically have a full house! Invite someone special to join you, get your tickets early, and come enjoy this awesome night!
Congratulations to senior Caitlin Barra for her achievement as the NCCS 2016-17 STAR student! This honor goes to the student who had the highest score in one sitting on the SAT Test and who is in the top of his/her class. Caitlin selected Mrs. Debbie Brink as her STAR Teacher – the teacher who she feels has influenced her the most during her high school career. We are so proud of Caitlin for this great achievement! She and Mrs. Brink will be honored on February 27 at the annual STAR Banquet.
Serving Up Success!
Our Lower School students did an outstanding job serving dinner to their parents and friends at the Serve it Up event this past Saturday! The purpose of the dinner was to raise money for the Lower School spring community service project. As a result of their service with a smile, the student servers were blessed to receive generous tips and we are excited to say that they exceeded their goal, with a total of $1,773.00 raised! In addition to the fundraising success, lasting memories were made as the kids learned to serve others!
All State Chorus Finalists
Congratulations to Austin Geter (senior) and Eli Thomas (sophomore) for passing the final audition for All State Chorus this past Friday night. These vocalists will be singing with Georgia's top choir members under the direction of some truly legendary conductors in February in Athens, Georgia. Special congratulations goes to Austin, as this is his sixth year of acceptance into All State Chorus, making him the only student from NCCS to have ever gotten into All State for all 6 years of eligibility. Great job, Eli and Austin!

K3 Princesses & Pirates
In honor of the letter "P," K3 students and teachers celebrated Princess and Pirate Day on Wednesday! With treasure maps in hand, pirates and princesses made their way through the halls together in search of the hidden treasure. Focused on their mission, it wasn't long before the treasure chest was found and the celebration began. Their celebration included a perfect snack of popcorn and pink lemonade. Learning is so much fun in K3 at NCCS!

Middle School Parent Meetings - Tuesday, 1/31
We invite our parents to join us in the Fine Arts Building on Tuesday, January 31, for informational meetings about all of the great things on the horizon for Middle School in the 2017-2018 school year. There are two meetings scheduled - 8:15am and 6:30pm - to accommodate family schedules. You are welcome to attend whichever meeting is most convenient for you. We also encourage you to bring a friend who may be considering Middle School at NCCS - this is a perfect way for them to hear specifically about the opportunities ahead for 5th-8th grade students. If you have any questions, please contact Gina Piepmeier.
Celebrating 100 Days
Time flies in first grade! Our first graders celebrated the 100th day of school on January 25th by dressing up like they were one hundred years old. Everyone enjoyed seeing the creativity of the outfits of our little “old” first graders and each student was awarded a certificate for being 100 days smarter.
Family Fun with Math
Fourth grade students and their parents recently gathered to take part in the first annual NCCS Family Math Night. As students entered, they were offered the opportunity to win a Lego set by estimating the number of Legos in a jar. After that, they collected their box of game supplies and headed off to their first of three games. The games included Multiplication Scramble, Place Value Yahtzee, and Area. Competition was fierce as the fourth graders pitted their math skills against their parents. Laughter and fun were the theme of the evening as families played and learned. At the end of the evening, fourth grader Jack Bryant was announced as the Lego set winner for his estimation of Legos in the jar.

Parking at NCCS
With admissions season in full swing, we would like to ask everyone to refrain from using the two parking spaces closest to the crosswalk that are reserved for Admissions/prospective families (signs are posted in these two spots.) This includes parking there to “run in for just a minute” or parking there after school (we often have guests visit after regular school hours.) Thank you for your help as we welcome our guests to our campus.
Not quite sure which parking spots to use? All parking spaces are available for everyone to use EXCEPT for spaces marked RESERVED, STUDENT, or HANDICAP.Reserved spaces have either been purchased at the spring benefit dinner and auction by our families, given to our teachers of the year, or provided for prospective families visiting NCCS Admissions. Student spaces are assigned to our student drivers by number and handicap spaces are prohibited to use by law unless a handicap parking permit has been issued to the driver. If a space is numbered or says “Visitor” and is not marked “reserved, student, or handicap,” you are welcome to park in there.
