Texas STRONG: NCCS Partnering with Houston Area School After Hurricane Harvey NCCS is partnering with Covenant Academy in Cypress, Texas for Hurricane Harvey relief. The school has had to remove all of the flooring and all the drywall due to the flooding in the area. Many school supplies and curricular items were also damaged. The Marquez family, who has two girls attending Covenant Academy, has also lost everything. It is our desire as a school to support Covenant Academy and the Marquez family during this difficult time. Our NCCS student government will be selling Texas STRONG t-shirts for $20 beginning tomorrow. All proceeds will go to Covenant Academy and the Marquez family. We will also be collecting money for this effort at the varsity home football game tomorrow - cash only. Be sure to check your e-mail tomorrow for specific information about how to order our special Texas STRONG t-shirts and get involved with this relief effort! And please join us in praying for all who are facing difficult circumstances and loss as a result of the recent and ongoing natural disasters.

Timothy Program - Starting Soon! Sponsored by the NCCS Student Life/Counseling Department “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 The Timothy Program is a service designed to provide opportunities for NCCS students to use their God-given talents and abilities to impact others through mentoring, tutoring and encouraging a fellow student. There is no fee to participate in the program. We will do our best to make suitable matches for as many students as possible. However, we cannot guarantee all will receive a match, as there are limitations in the number of available mentors. You will be contacted once all matches are complete and invited to a reveal breakfast in October. If you think your child would benefit from having a student mentor, please complete the application by Friday, September 22 at 8:00am at this link: Mentee Application

Volunteers Needed for Service Projects NCCS Lower School students are learning about how God wants them to use their Time, Treasure and Talents for Him. We can begin by serving others in love! During chapel on September 19, we will be serving in the following ways: K5-4th grade - wrapping silverware for MUST Ministries and for West Conroe Baptist Church located just outside Houston, Texas. Mrs. Titus’ parents live in the Houston area and their church has a food ministry that is very busy right now. Our wrapped silverware will be used by their church food ministry. K3-K4 students - coloring hearts for Furry Friends to be handed out by Police Officers and Firefighters during times of distress. Volunteer needs - at least 20 parents to help from 8:10-8:45am in the gym to wrap silverware and/or help with furry friends around 9:00am in the LS cafeteria (you are welcome to help with one or both sessions) This interactive chapel will allow our students to be the hands and feet of Jesus and experience what it is like to put others first. Please email Denise Meier at ciscelmeier@aol.com if you are interested in participating.
