Lower School

Lower School (Junior Kindergarten - 4th Grade)

At North Cobb Christian School, young learners thrive in a Christ-centered atmosphere designed to promote academic, spiritual, and social growth. With nurturing teachers and exceptional learning resources, students develop strong foundations in many different areas.

Core Classes
Heavy emphasis is placed on the core subjects of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, ensuring lower school students develop the proficiencies needed for all future learning. Each of these subjects is taught from a Biblical perspective, allowing students to see how God’s word is relevant in every area of life.

Special Subjects
The lower school core curriculum is enhanced by many special subjects such as Spanish, art, music, technology, and physical education. Led by passionate teachers, these enrichment opportunities help students discover their God-given gifts and talents early on.

Character Education
We believe a complete education provides more than strong academic foundations. Partnering closely with parents, teachers cultivate values such as love, service, personal responsibility, respect, and integrity in the hearts of our students. A variety of leadership and service opportunities encourage meaningful growth throughout the lower school years.

Program Highlights:

Hands-On Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to make the most of students’ natural curiosity during the early years. Hands-on learning experiences foster critical thinking and effective teamwork skills. From reading and writing to science and social studies, students are given the tools to become confident and independent thinkers. A Biblical framework encourages a continual pursuit of truth in learning.

RISE Program
RISE (Research, Investigation, Study, & Exploration) is available to students in 2nd through 4th grade who demonstrate academic giftedness and maintain a high grade point average. Students enjoy a half-day per week of enrichment time that involves field trips and higher-level thinking activities. Students are recommended by their teachers and invited to join.

FLIPSIDE
Flipside is our after school program for K3-4th grade students. Flipside engages your child, combining after school care with the FUN they crave!

The fee for Flipside is $13.00 per day/child and students may attend Flipside one day or as many days as desired. Flipside provides before-school care beginning at 7:00am (no additional charge) and after-school care is available until 6:00pm for K3 students and 6:30pm for K4-4th grade students.

Flipside also offers an assortment of enrichment activities, called SIDEKICKS, designed for all ages and interests and available at an additional charge. Students may participate in Sidekicks activities separately or in addition to attending our Flipside after school program.  Sidekicks enrichment activities expand learning so that every student can thrive by providing opportunities to explore and discover students’ interests and passions in a safe, structured and engaging environment. Students K3 - 4th grade will have meaningful after school time with opportunities in art, music, dance, sports, STEAM, academics and everyday skills. Students will have FUN after the bell as we make every minute count! (Note: Flipside is available after Sidekicks activities for $6.00 per day/child.)
