At North Cobb Christian School, we are committed to 21st century learning skills that include both excellence and innovation in the classroom. We believe it is critical for our students to have the best resources available to them at all times. We recognize that we can achieve this through a variety of new, used, and digital curriculum. Our goal is to make your curriculum purchases as simple and cost-efficient as possible. Our curriculum purchasing program will also give us an opportunity to address multiple learning styles and help our students raise the bar even higher in the area of academic achievement. Please read all of this information to help you understand the curriculum your student needs to purchase to be ready for the 2018-2019 school year at North Cobb Christian School.
NOTE: as a result of our “One to One Program,” our transition into digital content has allowed us to improve the curriculum purchase process. As a reminder, NCCS provides curriculum for 5th and 6th graders. 7th and 8th graders are required to purchase their own curriculum. However, if your child requires digital content in any of their classes, NCCS has already purchased the necessary licenses for the 2018-2019 school year and will simply apply the appropriate charges to your child’s FACTS account.
The Middle School Textbook List includes a list of all of the curriculum required for Middle School students for the 2018-2019 school year. This year, Language Arts is the only class that we will continue to require hard copy content. The necessary purchasing information per grade level in Language Arts is provided below. When ordering through Amazon.com, isbn.nu and half.com, please pay careful attention to ISBN numbers. Often these sites have new, used, and rentals available at reasonable prices. If you rent textbooks, please note that they usually rent books by the quarter or semester, not for the entire school year if that is what you need.
“Can I purchase a hard copy for my student in addition to the digital content already provided?”
Yes. Any parent wishing to purchase a hard copy textbook in any subject area in addition to the digital curriculum, may do so through Amazon.com, half.com or any other resource available. Hard copy content is listed as OPTIONAL on the Middle School Textbook List.
If you have any questions at all about your student's textbooks, please feel free to contact Gina Piepmeier, NCCS Middle School Administrative Assistant by phone at extension 502 or email Gina Piepmeier.
