Traditions + Events

Each year, North Cobb Christian School begins the school year in the most powerful way possible—by coming together as a school family to seek God’s will and favor for NCCS.

Typically held during the second week of school, this cherished tradition brings every student, teacher, and staff member onto Jacob Dennis Football Field for a morning of student-led worship and prayer. We’re also joined by parents, local pastors, and community guests—gathering more than 2,000 people in unified prayer.

Student representatives from Lower, Middle, and Upper School lead prayers for our teachers, students, families, community, and nation. What began over 25 years ago as a simple circle of students around the school building has grown into a cornerstone event—launching each school year in unity, humility, and dependence on the Lord.

The Timothy Program is a cornerstone of Student Life at North Cobb Christian School, designed to foster meaningful mentoring relationships between Upper School students and their Middle and Lower School peers.

Rooted in our mission to develop the whole student—mind, body, and spirit—the program encourages students to invest in one another through intentional, Christ-centered connection.

Each pairing is thoughtfully and prayerfully matched based on shared interests, similar personalities, and common passions in the arts, athletics, and beyond. The journey begins with a memorable Timothy Program Reveal Breakfast in the fall, where mentors and mentees meet for the first time. Parents are invited to attend to meet their child's mentor, as well. 

Throughout the year, these student pairs spend 30+ hours together, building trust, encouraging one another, and growing through a relationship that often lasts well beyond the school year. This program is just one of the tangible reasons why NCCS is more than a school — it's a family.

Fall Festival: A Favorite NCCS Tradition!

This beloved annual event is one you won’t want to miss! Imagine a school carnival—supercharged—with exciting attractions like games, rides, a petting zoo, special treats, and more. But the best part? Spending time together and fellowshipping with your NCCS family.

Hosted by the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF), the Fall Festival is a celebration of community and fun for the whole family. Even better, all proceeds support the ongoing work of the PTF in enhancing student life at NCCS.

Celebrating Grandparents and Grandfriends at NCCS

Have you ever stopped to consider just how important grandparents are? These special family members—and grandfriends—are an incredible blessing, offering wisdom, love, and support not only to our children, but to our entire community.

That’s why NCCS sets aside special days each year to celebrate and honor Grandparents and Grandfriends.

Grandparents Day is a cherished tradition at NCCS, giving these beloved guests a chance to experience a glimpse into their grandchild’s school day, while being celebrated for the impact they make in our lives.

Honoring Our Veterans

Each year at NCCS, we host a deeply meaningful Veterans Day Chapel to honor the brave men and women who have served our country.

The morning begins with a special breakfast for veterans and their spouses, followed by a traditional parade of veterans into chapel—a powerful and emotional moment witnessed by students, staff, families, and guests.

This heartfelt chapel experience is a highlight of our school year, reminding us all of the sacrifice, courage, and service of those who have fought for our freedom.

Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW): A Time Set Apart

Spiritual Emphasis Week is a powerful and intentional time of spiritual growth at NCCS, especially for our Middle and Upper School students. Held each year in the winter, SEW features a week of daily chapels, engaging worship, and impactful messages designed to encourage students in their walk with Christ.

Student testimonies from SEW consistently serve as a beautiful reminder of the importance of pausing to recommit our hearts to the Lord and pursue Him more deeply as a school family.

Eagles Booster Club Challenge Golf Tournament

This annual fundraiser is a fantastic day of fun, fellowship, and friendly competition—all in support of NCCS Athletics. The Eagles Booster Club (EBC) Golf Tournament brings together an exclusive group of golfers and dedicated supporters of North Cobb Christian School.

Honoring Our Everyday Heroes

This meaningful Lower School service project celebrates those who make a difference at NCCS and in our broader community, including local first responders.

It’s a special event for all involved, as our 4th grade students take the lead—personally hosting and serving our honored guests. Through this experience, students put into practice the manners and hospitality skills they’ve learned throughout the school year, making the event both impactful and memorable.
