Traditions + Events

North Cobb Christian School launches the start of every school year by gathering together as an entire school family to seek God’s will and favor for NCCS. Typically held during the second week of the new school year, every student, teacher, and staff member from across the entire school gathers on Jacob Dennis Football Field for a morning of student-led worship and prayer, joined by parents, pastors, and community guests. In all, over 2,000 members of our NCCS Family and wider community come together to pray. 

During this time together, student representatives from Lower, Middle, and Upper School pray for our teachers, staff, students, families, community, and nation. What began over 25 years ago as a literal circle around the building by our students is now a cornerstone tradition that launches us into every school year in unity and humility before the Lord. 
 

The Timothy Program is one of our Student Life pillars at NCCS, pairing Upper School students with Middle and Lower School students for mentoring and encouragement. In alignment with our heartfelt commitment to develop the whole student -- mind, body and spirit -- the Timothy Program allows students to invest into each other through meaningful ongoing relationships. 

Much thought and prayer goes into matching up students, who are paired based on interests, common arts or athletic pursuits, personality, and more. Mentors and mentees meet each other during a very special Timothy Program Reveal Breakfast in the fall. Pairs then meet together regularly throughout the school year, for 30-plus hours, with the goal of supporting and nurturing each other.

This annual Fall FAVORITE event is one that you won’t want to miss! This PTF fundraising tradition for our NCCS school family is a wonderful night of family fun and all proceeds benefit our Parent Teacher Fellowship. To get involved, contact NCCS PTF.

Have you ever stopped to think how important grandparents are? Our children’s grandparents can be the most wonderful resource, both to us as parents and to our community. Sometimes in all the hurly-burly of busy lives, we can forget this fact. That’s why NCCS celebrates our Grandparents and Grandfriends each year by designating two days just to honor THEM! Grandparent’s Day is a great time to celebrate the amazing role these special family members and friends play in our lives and to offer them a glimpse into the daily school routine of their grandchildren!

Every year at NCCS, we host a very special chapel honoring our veterans. A special breakfast for veterans and their spouses always precede chapel followed by a traditional parade of veterans into a moving chapel experience that touches the hearts of the hundreds of people who attend, all in honor of those who have fought for our country. 

Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW) is an intentional week of spiritual growth, particularly with our Middle and Upper School students. Typically held in February, students participate in special chapels every day, culminating in a memorable All School Chapel on Friday. During this schoolwide time of prayer, worship and growth, parents, faculty, staff, and students from every grade level attend. Student testimonies from SEW are always a strong reminder of the importance of setting aside time to intentionally recommit our lives to the Lord.

This yearly fundraiser is a wonderful time of fun and fellowship – all to help support NCCS athletics. The Eagles Booster Club (EBC) Challenge Golf Tournament is a beneficial way to connect with an exclusive group of golfers and supporters of North Cobb Christian School. This Lower School service project honors those who make a difference at NCCS, as well as those who help our community, such as first responders. This is a special event for all as our 4th grade personally hosts and serves our special guests, putting into practice the manners training they’ve received in class during the school year. 

A Celebratory Tradition! Our annual Benefit Dinner + Auction is a lively, laughter-filled, high-energy evening, complete with entertainment, a silent and live auction, and the infamous dessert dash! Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to support NCCS while celebrating as a school family. Memories always abound! .
