When asked what inspired the creation of CTrack, the students said, “We wanted to get real-world programming experience by working together as a team on a project. We also wanted to create an app that would have practical impact on people's lives."

Their app, CTrack, was designed to help users track their monthly expenses and develop a budget to meet their needs. It also provides recommendations for investing by making stock predictions using real-time data from the stock market. The students coded the program in Python, and for the contest submission, they created a video demonstrating their app and explaining its purpose and capabilities.

This surge in participation reflects the increasing excitement around STEM and highlights a bright future for American innovation.

The Congressional App Challenge is an official initiative of the U.S. House of Representatives, where Members of Congress host contests in their districts for middle school and high school students, encouraging them to learn to code and inspiring them to pursue careers in computer science.

The first-place team from North Cobb Christian School has been invited to showcase their winning app to Congress during the annual House of Code Festival this summer.
