In January, North Cobb Christian School launched a nationwide search for our next Director of Athletics, drawing an outstanding pool of highly qualified candidates. One candidate stood out above the rest in his alignment with NCCS’s unwavering commitment to a Christ-centered, championship-caliber athletics program. We are thrilled to announce that Kyle McVey has accepted the position of Director of Athletics at NCCS, effective July 1.
A Chicago native and lifelong product of Christian education, Kyle graduated from Schaumburg Christian School before earning his bachelor’s degree in education from Bob Jones University and a master’s degree in sports management from Liberty University. He returned to Schaumburg Christian, serving as Director of Athletics for 10 years. In that time, he transformed the school’s athletic program—expanding teams and offerings, galvanizing coaches around the priority of Christian discipleship, leading the school into the Illinois High School Association, developing elementary leagues and feeder programs, and building a strong athletic brand that consistently attracted college scholarship opportunities for student-athletes. Kyle also coached across multiple sports, including basketball, soccer, and baseball.
Kyle then joined New College of Florida in Sarasota in 2023 as Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. There, he helped launch the college’s intercollegiate athletic program, guiding the school’s entrance into the NAIA and Sun Conference. Under his leadership, New College added eleven sports in two years, with seven more set to launch this fall. As Assistant Basketball Coach, Kyle helped establish a team culture grounded in love, service, and competitive excellence. In just its second season, the team doubled its win total and earned a spot in conference playoffs.
Kyle’s vision for athletics at NCCS is both bold and deeply rooted in faith: “To love Jesus well, love others well, and strategically develop programs and athletes who compete at a very high level.” He believes that when authentic discipleship is integrated with elite athletics, transformation happens—not just in teams, but across an entire school community. “That’s the heartbeat of who I am and who I believe North Cobb Christian School is,” he shares. “We have so many people who are ready to go. So let’s take off—let’s fly!”
Kyle and his wife, Cindy—his high-school sweetheart—have been married for 12 years. Kyle jokes that he fell for her a couple of years before the feeling was mutual. They are the proud parents of a 10-month-old daughter, Malia.
Please join us in giving a heartfelt welcome to Kyle McVey and his family as they become part of the Eagle Family. We can’t wait to see all God will do through his leadership at NCCS!
