It’s Large Group Performance Evaluation season for our student instrumentalists, who diligently prepare for these challenging judged evaluations. For the evaluation, three songs are performed for three judges, and then a piece is sightread, which students have never seen before. Our band and orchestras all came away with Superior ratings, including a perfect score! To receive such high scores is an impressive honor and immense accomplishment, speaking to the exceptional standards of the NCCS Instrumental Arts program.
RESULTS:
Band LGPE | The NCCS Band earned a Superior rating from all judges, AND they received straight A’s in every category (tone, musicality, etc.) from every judge on every piece!!
Upper School Orchestra LGPE | The NCCS US Orchestra also received a superior rating, with two judges awarding our orchestra a near-perfect score, and the sight reading judge giving our students a PERFECT score, along with many compliments!
Middle School Orchestra LGPE | The NCCS 7th + 8th Orchestra received an overall Superior rating, earning 2 Superiors and 1 Excellent, as well as a Superior on sight reading!
Well done, students and directors! For context, these evaluations are equivalent to athletic playoffs and academic standardized testing. Our band and orchestras truly excel in their God-given gifts!
