Walker Phillips was a star quarterback with Cartersville Youth Football League.

Details on the services honoring the life of Walker Phillips have been shared by the family. We know that many members of our NCCS faculty, staff, and community wish to honor Walker and the Phillips family by attending both Walker’s Gathering of Friends and Celebration of Life services. Therefore, school on Friday, February 18, will be canceled, to accommodate all those wishing to support this beloved family.

Memorial Contributions

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorial contributions to be made in Walker's memory to the Live Like Walker Fund

"Live like Walker" is the anthem of our NCCS 4th graders, who unanimously voted to paint the NCCS rock with this phrase to honor their beloved friend, Walker Phillips. These funds will be specifically designated for a future project decided upon by the Phillips family in Walker's honor. More details on this fund can be found at the link below.

We invite you to then spend Winter Break (2/21-2/23) following Walker’s advice, as shared by his family: “Walker would want you to put down your phones, walk outside and play with your friends. Live like there is no tomorrow, and love those around you so deeply they will never forget. Live like Walker!!!"

From the Phillips Family

Walker's written story can be on his Dignity Memorial page. In the meantime, the Phillips family says, “We know that Walker is living God's plan. We want you to know that Walker lived, he loved us every day, and he knew he was loved every day. Walker left us with the sweetest sign and proof that he is with the Lord through his interpretation of John 11:25-26 in his last Bible verse test. Walker continues to show us his strength by leaving us this gift.”
