Phase Two of our Upper School Building is coming together beautifully, with the goal of our students moving into this wonderful space during fall semester 2024!
Our 75,000-square-foot Upper School facility was built in two phases. The first phase, which opened in January 2021, includes 24 classrooms, a STEM Center with a SOAR Lab and Makeshop, counseling offices, and administrative spaces. The second phase, which is currently being built adjoining phase one, will bring all daily Upper School activities -- from lunch to chapel to classes -- into one location.
Phase Two Includes:
- The Commons dining hall, complete with a stage for chapel and assemblies.
- An industrial kitchen and multi-concept serving area.
- State-of-the-art expansive biology and chemistry labs.
- A dedicated Upper School Moving Forward Program wing.
- Higher Grounds student-run coffee shop.
- Covered outdoor patio with seating for 120 people.
Phase Two Benefits:
- All daily activities will be centralized for Upper School.
- Lunch for 3rd through 12th grades will take place in The Commons cafeteria.
- Middle and Upper School chapel will take place in The Commons.
- NCCS will now have a fully integrated Upper School Moving Forward Program space.
- Students, parents and faculty will gain additional cooperative and meeting spaces, both indoors and outside.
- Our student entrepreneurs will hone their business skills in the beautiful new Higher Grounds Coffeeshop.
OTHER CAMPUS ADVANCEMENTS
Other exciting advancements around campus include newly installed baseball field lights, as well as a new softball / middle school baseball field that is currently under construction. The new field will relocate the existing field, making way for the future Fine Arts Complex. In addition to a lighted turfed field, this new athletics space will include a concession stand and an indoor facility with batting cages, a locker room, and restrooms.
We are blessed for our students to benefit from these new improvements as we seek to provide every opportunity to develop students' God-given gifts for His glory!
